A Monomaterial Nernst Thermopile with Hermaphroditic Legs

A large transverse thermoelectric response, known as anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) has been recently observed in several topological magnets. Building a thermopile employing this the subject of recent propositions. Here, we design and build with an array tilted adjacent crystals Mn$_3$Sn. The employs single material replaces pairs P N thermocouples traditional hermaphroditic legs. exploits lag angle between applied field magnetization, which attribute to interruption magnetic octupoles at edge $xy$-plane. Eliminating extrinsic contacts legs will boost efficiency, simplify process pave way for new generation thermopiles.
